I got in my car yesterday morning to discover this figure on the odometer.
Bear in mind I've only had the car 5 weeks and 3 days.

There's now another 26 miles on it or so due to another round of my commute.

ASG Citigo HELP PLS : )))

Hi guys,
Sory for my bad English.
I have been reading this mostly bad reviews about ASG gearbox, but still wants to order one, because it is cheaper than Toyota Aygo x-shift or Skoda Fabia dsg and I want automatic. And I like Skoda brand, but not sure what to feel about ASG.
I can order one here in Montenegro but there is no test car with ASG because 90% of population drive-manual. : ( So I don't know what to do.

About prices here:
For example, the cheapest Citigo ASG is 8 800 €; cheapest Aygo automatic11 150 €; cheapest Citroen c1 automatic 10 700 € (but only 2 years waranty); Fabia dsg 12 000€...

So, all these bad reviews about ASG is from 2013., 2014., but I would like to hear someone who buy car in 2016., maybe cars from this year had better ASG, improved or updated? (I hope) : )))

Thank you

When did the window switches for the passenger & drivers side start to appear in the drivers door? (what year/build) Is this an easily doable upgrade to a car that has separate switches?

wheel badges

Hi everyone. Just a query about the wheel badges. As can be see in the photo the badges on my 2012 citigo alloys are corroded while the wheels themselves are in good condition. Can I get the badges replaced?
Can I get them myself and replace them or should I get the dealer to do at the next service which is due shortly?
How much is this likely to be? Any help appreciated thanks

Citigo 30,000mile service

$

So our Citigo ASG has now just had its 30,000mile service since we purchased it just over 2 years ago.

  • Faults to date? 1 daylight running bulb which had failed
  • Warranty claims to date? 1 radio booster

And how much have we spent on the servicing of the citigo in the 30,000miles.......... £NIL as we took the 0% finance which gave this added extra.

Worth noting that all the tyres are on 5mm (but this maybe assisted by the winter tyres we used for 4 months)

So owning a Citigo is painless as an ownership proposition from our point of view. The dealer is excellent and always gets top score on the surveys that skoda issue out.

It's worth pointing out that it feels as screwed together as the day we picked it up !  :sun:

Silly question?

I'm currently looking to swap to a CitiGo/Mii or Up. Now I've had a couple of little test drives, I like the cars and they go well enough. One thing I have noticed is that for me to get into a comfortable driving position the steering wheel obscures a fair portion of the speedometer. Does anyone else notice this or does the speed appear in the digital portion anyway? I never checked,

Citigo Exhaust cost.

Sup chaps,

Quick question, the exhaust on my partners citigo has snapped at the weld, just before the box in the centre.

She wants to keep the car as Skoda as much as possible, and is wondering, what is the cost of a new exhaust from Skoda themselves?

Tried ringing the dealers but they're closed until monday.

Just after a ball park figure, as were looking at KwikFit and some side street garages for quotes also, but we know these will be OEM parts.

Should I worry about the coolant?

Hi there,

I've had a used 2012 1.0 Citigo since last year, been very happy with it so far. But after a bout of cold weather earlier this year, the coolant warning light came on and it was very low. Since we had the baby in the car, I took the risk of driving home, bought some coolant and topped it up. No further problems, but I think there must be a leak because since then I've had to top it up twice (never because the light came on though -- after visual inspection).

It's not due for another service until end sept or about another 3,000 miles according to the schedule. But I'm starting to think maybe I should take it in to be looked at -- any opinions?

(Also leaving it 10,000 miles between oil changes makes me a bit nervous! I started motoring in the US, where every 3,000 miles was more common.)

Thanks!

Daft question, but can the oil filter be seen without crawling too far underneath the car? Thanks.

Heaters not working

Hi

My heaters have stopped working and I'm pretty stumped as to why. Air con still turns on but the fans aren't blowing (hot or cold).

I've checked the fuse, which wasn't blown, and replaced it with a new one and I've also had the hu+heater controls out to check for loose wiring to no avail.

Everything seems to be fine so any help would be much appreciated .

Cheers.

Things I don’t understand from the manual

I’m one of those weird types who read it. Could someone explain these bits to me?

Tyre pressure monitoring: Is the alarm intended just as a reminder that the pressure’s gone down a bit and needs topping up, or does it only flag up drastic pressure loss?

Setting the tyre pressure monitor: The manual says “Press the key and hold it down. The warning light… illuminates. An acoustic signal and the control indicator provide information about the storage pressure values. Press the symbol key. Release the symbol key.”

That’s confusing, because it’s telling me to press the key while it’s already telling me to hold it down. Do I

  • Hold it down until the information shows, then lift my finger off, or
  •  Hold it down until the information shows, lift my finger off, then press it again.

Fixed vs variable service level intervals: The manual says this makes the difference as to what oil to use. But I’m confused – every car I’ve ever had has a service interval of ‘x miles or 1 year’. I expect my bog-standard Citygo is serviced on the same basis. So is that 'fixed' or 'variable'?

Coolant: It seems to imply it goes in as a readymade add-in, not as a mix with water – is that true? It also talks about ‘the specified’ coolant but I can’t see it specified anywhere – is that a marking on the reservoir?

Oil replenishing: The instructions after taking the cap off, putting the oil in, and replacing the cap say ‘Pull the dipstick out as far as the stop’, even though the dipstick hadn’t even been mentioned before. What’s moved it to the wrong place?!

Also, here’s an odd thing. In the manual’s photo of the engine layout, the brake fluid is toward the back on the right. I was a bit puzzled when my Citigo had a big empty space there. A bit of hunting around located it toward the back on the left instead, in a really awkward and cramped place. Anyone know what that’s all about?

Move & Fun - Stuck on Skoda boot-up screen?

Hi all, we picked up a 14 plate Citigo yesterday and very pleased we are with it too.

On the drive home, we noticed the sat-nav was a little clunky, i.e. it seemed to turn itself off on route, and I therefore fully charged it overnight with a view to updating this morning.

Lo and behold, when I connected to Fresh this morning, it told me the OS was out of date and that it would perform an update.  However, half-way through the download itself (i.e. it hadn't even started the update process) it came up with an error message, something about not being able to connect to the device.  Now, I can't even turn it on, as it gets stuck on the Skoda splash screen on boot-up.

Presumably there's some way I can do a hard reset of the device back to factory settings, and then re-connect to Fresh and update from there?

Any assistance gratefully received.

Thanks

Pete

Hi,

I've been reading/posting to this forum for around 18 months & am constantly surprised by the variety of topics which arise. Most appear to me to be items which have little relevance to driving the car.

Why get concerned about stripes, wheels, messing with various electronic bits? Why not just get with using the car & if something goes wrong post a query or return to the dealer/your favourite garage?

I see these are currently on offer with £500 deposit from dealer and £750 fuel card, so in effect you are paying £8750 new. Is this a good deal? Anyone own one? Is the 17MY "facelift" coming soon so they are trying to get them off stock?

Auto hold

Can someone please settle a argument with a "know it all at work". They say there car has auto hold. I had a rear brake problem that made my car not role back on hills and I belive this is happening to there's. I fitted auto hold on my b6 passat and had to fit switch and change sittings in vcds. There car has no switch, it just holds on hills. I think it is just drum brake problem but stand to be corrected.

How to keep the clock on?

When I leave the car parked, what usually happens is that on display I will end up with temperature instead of the clock, so every time I have to press the left button to change it back to clock. Is there a way to have clock as default? Mine is a plain edition, without the pack of electronic gadgets.

Retrofit DAB Radio

Hi All,

My first post. I've had my 2015 Citigo a couple of weeks and I love it. It's perfect for my needs but I'd love a DAB radio in it. From what I've read in the stereo manual it can take a DAB input but has anybody actually done that or just bought an aftermarket device like the Pure?

Thanks for any replies.
