As some of you may know, we now have a Citigo which we are very pleased with.

couple of questions if i may.

1, what size SD card can the PID take?

2, what is the easiest way to convert my music on iTunes so i can put it all on SD cards?

tried doing a seach but only seemed to bring up very old threads, just wondered if there was a more up to date way of proceeding?

Thanks

Turn the heater on all 4 settings and nothing is working, could it be the fuse?

VDCS - what is it?

Hello folks!

I'm very much a newbie when it comes to whole owning and running and fiddling with cars!

I keep seeing people talking about vagcom and VCDS (I know, I got the title wrong :notme: ) and lots of confusing ancronyms!

I noticed (in this post http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/285960-vag-comvcds-for-citigo-a-definitive-guide-to-the-citigos-options/ ) that it might be possible to program cornering fog lights on a Citigo (I'll have an SE L so fog lights are standard, and it's the greentech one so should be similar to Bluemotion Up! in terms of electronics), and my parents have them on a VW camper and I think they're unbelievably useful, so I'd like to see if I could go about activating them on my own car.

I will need a copy of some VW software I think, and whatever wire it is you use to plug your car in!

Many thanks in advance for any help!

Using PID discount vouchers

Has anyone else struggled to use the discount vouchers which came with my PID? Despite downloading Fresh, and trying to use the codes given with the device the system gives up at the stage where you try and pay. I've tried several payment methods on several different occasions and the system either times out or registers an error whatever I do. Any suggestions or is this an illusory offer?

Hi guys.

My local Skoda garage, Lookers, are offering an Aircon service and brake fluid change for £89.

Is this "too good to miss?"

Used PID issues

I recently bought a PID for my citigo off ebay, but it seems that it came out of a seat car. I tried rebooting it, but still recognises it as a seat even when its plugged into my car. Does anyone have any ideas about how to properly restart it like new? I don't care too much about the seat logo screen, but when i try to use the ecotrainer, it says that it cannot be used because its not plugged into the original car. Also, it appears there may be more than one way to reset it, I just went to navigation - settings - factory settings and did it that way. Please help!!

skoda citigo can't get reverse

citigo 2013. In third year of warranty 12000 miles.Car would not go in reverse, other gears OK.  AA man couldn't fix, took me to dealer/service centre.

Dealer says car worked OK when tested   (though not OK after many tries by me and AA man)   Dealer admits it is a known problem but Skoda offers no fix and intimates I should "live with it" because the fault is intermittent.  Any opinions?

Can anyone point me in the direction of the correct tool (or tools) for releasing the Citigo door trim poppers? I have a tool that's worked well with all previous cars, but the Citigo has defeated me.

variable boot floor citigo

Hi wondering if anyone can help me get the split variable floor that I saw in an Up for our Citigo as my Skoda dealer insists its a factory fit only, to me it looks like it would be a simple retro fit (I think I can see where the screws for the side brackets would go) the parts guy can't even get a part no for one yet it shows as an option in the new car brochure.

Any help would be greatly appreciated  Thanks  Chris P

Goodbye + Free Pedals/16" Serpens

Hi Everyone,

It has reached the time where I am now handing the Citigo back and I will sadly be leaving the briskoda forum.

I just wanted to say a huge thanks to all those I met back in 2014/15 at the various shows and events, the briskoda forum has always been very welcoming.

Alongside the events, I really enjoyed following the members projects and various discussions on the site, although I have lost track of how many parts Hyphons has fitted now...

I may be back at some point, but for now I wish you all the best and good luck with the club.

Alex   :hi:

PS: If anyone would like some free stainless pedals or fancies a free swap for the 16" Serpens below, please PM me...
The wheels have been looked after (no kerbing) and are fitted with Continental Eco Contact 5 185/50/16 tyres.
Rear tread is 4mm and front tread is 5mm. Looking for some 15" Aurigas in return.

As hinted at in the "tell me about the Citigo" thread, I've concluded negotiations (not hard) and come home with a metallic silver 2015 SE.

2 hours on the train to Manchester to see the car was relaxing, 6 hours - most of it spent on the M6 - driving home less so.

The necessary parts of the buying process (test drive, haggle, formal paperwork) were excellent. The slow run through of all the optional insurances (cover against paint damage, Luddites and witchcraft) significantly less so. Seriously, it nearly lost them the sale.

Driving the car is a delight. It's remarkably like driving our much loved but departed mk1 1.2 12V Fabia. Engine sounds the same and it really light and easy around town and whizzes along on the motorway. When it's not stationary.

It's basic in some ways, but it's competent and quiet with astonishing ride quality, and it feels like a much bigger car. I'm sure there's more space in the back than in my old mk 1 Octy estate.

Ok, it doesn't have the yeehaw! of my Yeti but what do you expect? It was a quarter of the money. And it's a bloody good car!

And the lad loves the stripe on the roof :-)

All I want to do now is a PID, mudflaps, variable boot, possibly DAB and that the lad will let me play with it occasionally.

Confused about lights

I bought a Citigo SE L, and the option was to have front fog lights or daytime running lights. I chose front fog lights. The manual says if I have those, the foglight switch is a 2-position pull-out (as opposed to a 1 position one for rear only).

I have a 2 position switch, and true enough, there are lights in the low area which come on when I go to the first position, BUT......

My front sidelights are also always on, i.e. even when the lights dial is at '0'.

Is this

1) a fault (I'm used to sidelights only coming on when they are switched on, and thought that would be how it would be if I didn't opt for daytime running)

2) daylight running lights, and in fact they aren't an 'instead of', they are an 'as well as'.

Decorative foils and insurance

The lad passed his test last month so we've been looking out for the best deal we could find for an 18 year old.

Insuring the free-from-his-grandad 1993 Rover 214 SEi was scarily expensive (roughly £2.5k TPFT), and provided neither the image that an 18 year old wants nor the safety features that a parent requires.

Insuring a Citigo SE would work out at about £750 if we moved the fleet to Admiral Multicar. That ticked the boxes.

After lots and lots of searching and looking, we brought this home last week.

IMG_20160506_142546.jpg

We're currently driving it on the Skoda drive away insurance which is valid for the next couple of days

Having got home we ran the quote again to get cover sorted out. It had gone up by a few pounds, but I'm used to these online quotes changing daily so that wasn't entirely unexpected.

However... making sure we declared everything...

I added the non-standard wheels to the quote - quote goes up by £10

I added the PID to the quote - quote stays the same

I added the decorative foils to the quote - quote goes up by £540!!!

It seems that I've either got to start the insurance search all over again, or remove the foils. Nightmare. It never occurred to me that the price would go up for inexpensive peel-off stickers. A permanent paint job, perhaps but not stickers.

PID question

Even though the guy here isn't actually asking a question (no question marks as far as I can see), can anyone answer this question?  I didn't realise the PID was locked to one particular car!

"presume that this has been linked to a previous vehicle, if this is the case, almost impossible to link to a different vehicle. please confirm either way."

electric model (up only)

Whilst there isnt a Skoda equivelant I can find, whats the opnions of folk on the electric up?

http://www.volkswagen.co.uk/new/e-up-nf/home

I like the idea of electric cars at this level, I only commute, (we use the wifes bigger car for long journeys), I could easily last a charge a day or longer.

And in something like a Mitsubishi that's £30k ie not a leap more than the diesel model, I can't see me parting with £20k+ for a £5k car..

On a side question, they quote mileage range and charge times, but its hard to establish the COST of a charge, ie the pence per mile to compare against petrol. Does anyone know these figures, I appreciate it depends on the electric supplier at home, but what about the charge stations round the country? I could go a long way with a 30min charge, if I linked the stations up..

Garmin PID missed update window

When I bought my Citigo in April 2014 I purchased a two year maps upgrade plan for my PID. I just went to update the maps and found my plan had expired - but I can't take advantage of any map updates for the period when I was subscribed. Is there any way I can access the maps prior to April 2016? I paid for them after all. Any suggestions?

PID Traffic Warning

We have used the PID quite a few times since we got the car last year, today it announced a traffic warning in 25 miles and came up on screen in a red box 3 cars behind each other. 25 miles down the road and a queue of traffic, is this a new update or have I pressed a button which I have not touched before?.
